SigmaTEK Strikes Gold with SolidNEST

SigmaTEK announces that SolidWorks Corporation, the leading supplier of 3D CAD software, certified SigmaTEK Systems with Certified Gold Product status for SolidNEST&8482;. The new product SolidNEST is an automatic nesting and CNC programming software solution for sheet metal and profile cutting that is seamlessly integrated inside of SolidWorks software. When a product is awarded a Certified Gold Product status, it shows that it is fully integrated into SolidWorks, any changes made to native files are automatically updated throughout the system, and it has been tested and certified by SolidWorks Corporation.

"Speed and innovation are often the two major factors that determine a design team's success," said SolidWorks Director of Marketing and Alliances Efrat Ravid. "That's why integration between key applications is indispensable. Engineers need different applications to work together to complete projects. Giving them access to produce a seamless transition from a 3D model to generating CNC code for Laser, Plasma, Oxyfuel, and Waterjet machines via SolidNEST, directly within the SolidWorks environment helps them become more productive, and helps their company design better products."

SolidNEST gives users advanced true shape nesting and CNC toolpath generation from inside SolidWorks. Users will be able to create a SolidWorks assembly file, nest, NC, and post G-code to a cutting machine all from within SolidWorks. The nest and toolpath are also available to view in the 3D interface in SolidWorks. In addition, standard SigmaNEST reports and definable job cards are available at the touch of a button, allowing a streamlined production from within one product.

Design for Manufacturing (DFM), now becomes a reality. By applying DFM, manufacturing problems which might have arisen in the past will diminish. In addition, the time to implement a design to production will decrease due to the additional measurements taken by the design team in the early stages. Machine optimization is also a benefit due to the advanced CNC features offered by the product. SolidWorks users can simplify training for the addition of nesting and CNC functions because of the easy-to-use interface built into the familiar SolidWorks product.
