Maegerle AG Maschinenfabrik has added an extremely versatile machine to its range: the MFP-TC. This 5-axis CD grinding center features an automatic tool and wheel changer. Maegerle has developed the MFP-TC compact grinding center especially for the complete machining of relatively small parts, which have a maximum volume of approximately 300mm3.

Maegerle AG Maschinenfabrik has added an extremely versatile machine to its range: the MFP-TC. This 5-axis CD grinding center features an automatic tool and wheel changer. Maegerle has developed the MFP-TC compact grinding center especially for the complete machining of relatively small parts, which have a maximum volume of approximately 300mm3.

The designers worked closely with end users of existing Maegerle machines.

Many years of customer experience were thus incorporated into the design of the MFP-TC.

The MFP-TC is primarily designed for grinding: the maximum dimensions of the grinding wheels are 300mm in diameter and 60mm wide.

When used in combination with the appropriate tools they can also be employed for drilling and milling tasks.

All the parameters of the various processes can be set, depending on the operation concerned.

The 2-axis overhead dressing unit features a verticle axis, which ensures that dressing of the wheel is accurate to within a tenth of a 1 micron, permitting CD and IPD dressing as well as standard dressing.

The horizontal axis can be used to automate the high-precision transverse axial positioning of diamond rollers up to 200mm in length.

A water nozzle with automatic compensation guarantees absolute freedom of movement together with accurately targeted cooling.

The MFP-TC is fitted with an automatic standard tool changer (with up to 20 tool positions).

A 30-position tool changer is also available.

Applications The MFP-TC is the perfect machine for three-dimensional work processes, since it can cope with the machining of workpieces from the aircraft turbine industry, series parts from the automotive industry or short runs from the tool industry.

It is important to note that the MFP-TC can also be designed with only three or four axes, or as a simple CBN machine.
