Butler, Seward tour Fermer Precision

Fermer Precision experienced growth in 2007, and with new opportunities on the horizon, the Cedarville-based machining and tool manufacturing facility expects to continue its upward trend in 2008.
In response to the company’s growth, and with an eye to the future, state Assemblyman Marc Butler, R - Newport, and state Senator James L. Seward, R - Milford, toured the CNC production-oriented facility Friday afternoon. They also had the opportunity to talk to company President Stewart Bunce and company General Manager Mark Cushman about what they can do in Albany to help the automotive, computer, emissions and medical component manufacturer continue to improve upon its well-known reputation in the industry.
“It was an eye-opening experience,” said Seward. “I always enjoy touring facilities such as this and talking to the people who work in them. On behalf of Assemblyman Butler and myself, we were happy to visit, and to have these discussions about what we can do in Albany to help.”
Serving customers from the design and engineering stage through the finished part, Fermer Precision combines state-of-the-art technology with the time-tested skills of master craftsmanship. It is that combination of state-of-the art and time-tested, said Cushman, that has allowed the company to remain competitive and offer the best possible price and service with quality performance in a timely manner.
“We have good group of employees who work with the changes in the industry. To remain on the leading edge of our industry, and to move forward in the market, we have to have employees who can adapt to change and can work together as a team,” said Cushman. “That said, our employees have dedicated themselves to making sure e produce the highest quality components. We could not do it without them.”
Bunce said in dealing with customers and suppliers Fermer Precision is held in high regard for its quality.
“Our customers are satisfied with the level of craftsmanship in our work,” said Bunce. “In speaking to our customers, they have said they are pleased with the quality of what we produce. The feedback has been positive, not only for our product, but for our on-time deliveries as well.”
To build upon their past success, Cushman said the company will look for opportunities to expand and diversify.
“We want to be the best CNC machining house we can be,” he said. “That is why I appreciate, on a personal level, and on a professional level, that Assemblyman Butler and Senator Seward took the opportunity to see what we are doing here and to ask how they can help. There are great opportunities here in the Mohawk Valley and we can not stress that enough. There are good jobs and good employees. We appreciated the opportunity to sit down and have a discussion about what we can do to move not only our company forward, but the Mohawk Valley forward.”
