Vibration damped palletisation allows quieter machining with higher removal rate, better surface finish, reduced tool wear from lower vibration and extended spindle life
The challenge to improve machine productivity and utilisation by reducing set-up times and capitalising on 'lights-out' production, with the introduction of automation, is one that System 3R said it is meeting successfully all over the world. At the UK's MACH 2008 machine tool exhibition, System 3R will demonstrate its Vibration Damped Palletisation system, 'Delphin' open reference modular clamping system and automation systems for workhandling and system management.
System 3R's exhibit will concentrate on the following.
* Vibration Damped Palletisation (VDP) - patented technology is used in a range of System 3R pallets, including MacroMagnum and Dynafix.
The systems allow machining with higher cutting data providing increased removal rate, better surface finish, reduced tool wear from lower vibration, extended spindle life and lower shopfloor noise levels.
* 'Delphin' reference systems - a modular clamping system with an 'open' reference system, which is not limited by standard pallet sizes.
'Delphin' is machine independent, which not only affords increased productivity but also the highest degree of flexibility.
Quick change, accurate positioning and fixing of workpieces makes it ideal for mixed production.
Delphin BIG can handle workpieces up to 10 tonnes.
* System 3R Automation - improved productivity from existing machines with 'lights-out' production and minimal downtime with our proven family of robots.
Led by 'WorkMaster' that serves multiple machines at the same time.
'WorkPartner' - a compact unit for pallet changing, both on the machine table and in the machine spindle.
'WorkPal' Compact Servo for efficient reftrofit tool/pallet changing.
All driven by our 'WorkShopManager' software.
* The System 3R Productivity Trail - a significant number of other companies also exhibiting at MACH 2008 will be using System 3R products on their own machines, demonstrating the added value delivered in terms of efficiency, accuracy , quality and productivity.
Head of System 3R UK operations, Peter Lampitt, said that MACH 2008 is one his company's major global exhibitions.
He said: 'It provides us with the opportunity to launch new products, the latest product enhancements and proven range extensions, bringing 'state-of-the-art' automation and tooling technology for the benefit of our customers in the UK and Ireland'.
He added that System 3R will be demonstrating its lead in providing productivity, accuracy, efficiency and flexibility solutions for precision engineering and their more traditional EDM processes.
'The key to our success is our neutral 'open architecture', ensuring our automation and tooling systems are compatible with every type of machine tool and process,' said Lampitt to manufacturingtalk.com.
He continued: 'We have placed extremely strong emphasis on developing software that enables machines of all types to communicate with each other to provide seam-free production.
Ultimately this rewards our customers with cost-effective productivity-enhancing solutions, increased profitability and the ability to remain competitive in the global marketplace'.
