Wenzel can now offer software covering all functions from digitising to CAD following its acquisition of Knotenpunkt, which specialises in reverse engineering software, technology' and CNC.
Wenzel has taken over Knotenpunkt, a company which specialises in digitising, the processing of point clouds and reverse engineering In the takeover, Wenzel now has all rights to Knotenpunkt's 'PointMaster' software package for reverse engineering and measurement
Wenzel said its products now cover all software from digitising to CAD.
By integrating PointMaster into its design software, Wenzel's DesCAD has all the functions - from model digitising to milling.
Wenzel also now has its own 3D line scanner technology (Shapetracer) for digitising surfaces and contours of parts using Wenzel coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Consequently, all strategically relevant components of a complete software suite are in posession of the Wenzel Group.
Managing director of Knotenpunkt, Ralf Jaumann, said that such a range of software is 'unique in the metrology industry'.

Knotenpunkt is located in Balingen, Germany, and currently employs 10 employees.
