The CAT3D CNC high-speed compact machining system has features that include a 60,000-rpm spindle, an automatic tool change unit with electronic tool length measurement and a "Z" height correction sensor. The "Z" probe has the ability to measure and map a contoured surface for precise machining.
The systems offer machining volumes up to 30" x 40" and tolerances from [+ or -]3 microns. The systems are suited for high speed machining with 1/4" diameter tools and under. The main industry for CAT3D is industrial engraving in applications such as intricate engraving of 3D embossing dyes, electrodes and stamps. Other industries include aerospace and electronics. The PC-based software facilitates basic milling, drilling, tapping and engraving functions with full capability to import various file formats from third party CAD/CAM packages.
