Doosan Machine tools Technical Center inaugurated in Bangalore

Doosan Infracore India Pvt.Ltd, the Indian arm of Korean Machine Tool giant Doosan infracore opened their first Technical Center in Bangalore today. The 10,000 Sft facility located at Bommasandra Industrial area in Bangalore is set up at a cost of one million US Dollars. "With this technical center we will support our customers fully so that they will find it easier to chose Doosan machines," said J.Y.Lee, Executive Managing Director of Doosan Infracore, Korea who was present for the inauguration. "There are many missions for us when we decided to open the technical center. First - to have a ready stock of spare parts for quick replacement, Two - To offer complete support to dealers and customers in servicing machines, Three - To offer application support to customer by trying out components etc & Four - To train our customers on our high end machines," he added. Doosan is quite bullish about the Indian market and 3 more support centers are planned in Chennai, Pune and Delhi region by 2010. For the tier 2 cities like Coimbatore, Ludhiana, Jamshedpur etc Doosan plans "Support posts" with Doosan service engineers. Doosan is also planning to set up a plant in India soon to produce machines from 2010 and many parts of the machines will be indigenized progressively once the production starts in India. Last year Doosan sold 379 machines in India. This year he is confident of achieving the target of selling 500 Doosan machines in India. High accuracy, high performance, high technology and optimal price are what Doosan machines are known for according to him. The inauguration function was well attended by many of the existing Doosan clients, Dealers of Doosan machines, and many other dignitaries from associate industries. Doosan Korea manufactures about 1000 CNC metal cutting machines a month and expects a revenue of USD 1.2 billion in 2008. Doosan exports machine tools to more than 50 countries and number wise they are one of the largest machine tool builders in the world today.
