EDGE Technologies has released a compact servo bar loader which can feed round, square and hexagonal bars with diameters between eight and 102mm into CNC lathe spindles.

The Rebel 102 Servo SE has a 760mm loading storage capacity which allows it to operate unattended for long intervals. It can take bars with lengths from 152 to 1520mm.

The storage table’s inclination can also be adjusted to give the loader ‘soft-load’ effect for large diameter bars.

The company says there is no contact between the bar stock and the loading magazine during processing, so high speed machining is possible when a properly sized lathe spindle liner is used.

The stock is loaded from the rear and then conveyed into the lathe by a linear feed mechanism with a toothed belt and servomotor. The feed force is automatically set by the controller after the bar diameter is entered into the conversational touch screen control.

According to the manufacturer, the machine’s multi-line display and operation station includes all the information needed to allow rapid setting and productive loading. It automatically adjusts the parameters for loading, feedout, and bar change.
