VX announced VX Innovator, a new product that targets the entry-level CAD market. According to the company, VX Innovator is designed to put high-end CAD/CAM within reach from a cost, learning, and scalability standpoint. Innovator comes preloaded with built-in tutorials and can be upgraded to any level of CAD/CAM.

The software provides users with the tools necessary for creating and delivering 2D drawing layouts of parts and assemblies including BOMs. Engineering managers and design reviewers can also use it to check drawings and models, quote jobs, and make quick 2D layouts.

Another feature is its scalability to all other VX products, which reportedly enables a seamless migration for advancing to Class A surfacing, shape morphing, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, and mold and die design.
