Rainham Steel, an independent structural steel works in Scunthorpe, has installed two CNC machines for bandsawing as part of an expansion of its twin-line processing plant, it has been announced.

The organisation invested in precision engineering tools from Kaltenbach, selecting its KBS1301 to fit into its 100-metre long installation.

Due to the structural importance of the product Rainham provides, it stated that the new system is perfect for them due to the CNC machine tools' ability to cut its products to a very accurate degree.

John Green, the works manager at the Scunthorpe branch of Rainham, stated that the new process line gives his company "formidable added capability and speed of response".

"We want to keep at the forefront of structural steel supply and therefore need the very best equipment. Our new line gives us just that," he concluded.

Kaltenbach works from its base in Bedford and specialises in the production of bandsaws and circular saws.
