Companies specialising in CNC machine tools and other forms of precision engineering will be interested to know that Autodesk has announced the release of its new AutoCAD 2010 software.

The new release allows designers to realise their creations in real-time and allows them to make adjustments using new free-form tools to explore enhanced 3D models before transferring them to compatible software for machining with CNC tools.

Jay Miller, the principal and CAD manager at BHB Consulting Engineers, said he had relied on the software for years to improve efficiency, adding that the new releases always bring new features to the table that make precision engineering all the more easy.

He continued: "Some of the ingenious new features in AutoCAD 2010, like parametric drawing tools and PDF enhancements, offer real-time savings and help make my job easier."

AutoCAD software was introduced in 1982 and is now regularly used by many Fortune 1000 companies in the US, as well as appealing to other companies across the world.
