The consistent growth of Indian manufacturing industry for the past few years has seen an enormous increase in the number of CNC machines in the country. This growth has given rise to a huge requirement of skilled people to work on CNC machines and maintain the machines. Hence, there is a major need to develop the skills of the CNC operators and maintenance technicians in India. To meet this requirement of the Indian Machine Tool industry, SIEMENS has sponsored two SINUMERIK CNC training racks and SINUTRAIN control simulation software for the IMTMA Design Institute, Bangalore.

Siemens sponsors CNC training equipment & software for IMTMA Design Institute The training racks are perfect for in classroom hands-on training on CNC controllers. These SINUMERIK 802D sl and 840D sl training racks will be used to train people on operating, part programming and maintenance. The training racks are optimized with complete features.

The controllers can be configured for any type of metal cutting technology like turning, milling, grinding, gear cutting and SPM’s. PLC troubleshooting is also possible on the racks.

Additionally with a combination of the PC based software SINUTRAIN and the training racks, the training participants can create programs and execute the same on the PC and racks before loading it on the actual machine for execution. SINUTRAIN includes both DIN/ISO as well as Graphical Programming (ShopMill & ShopTurn) along with CAD Reader and Simulation of workpiece.

All of this helps in acquiring a holistic knowledge of CNC operating, programming and maintenance.

In conjunction with IMTMA Design Institute, Siemens looks forward to addressing the training requirements of the industry.
