The Dutch machine tool manufacturer Hembrug BV put its new production establishment into operation in Haarlem, near Amsterdam. The official opening ceremony was conducted by Jan Kamminga, chairman and managing director of the Dutch Association for Metal and Elektro, FME-CWM. Hembrug has built ultra-precision turning machines for the production of precision products made of hardened metal types in Haarlem for decades. The company has for some time been confronted with a lack of space due to the development of larger vertical machines and a steady increase in order intake.

The new production facility has doubled Hembrug's production area, creating space for the completion of larger, customer-specific projects and enabling the building of more standard machines. The new facility also creates the space needed to expand other disciplines, such as engineering, R&D and production management. Last year the company was presented with the Dutch Techni-Show Innovation Award for the development of the Hemtech 5-axis ultra-precision milling machine Nano-Focus. The commissioning of the new building has created more space for the building of these machines.
