A CNC machining company partly based in the UK is celebrating its tenth birthday this week.

Proto Labs, which specialises in injection moulding, CNC lathes and other precision engineering tasks, was created in 1999 under the Protomold brand and has expanded to quick-turn services over the last few years.

Brad Cleveland, the president and chief executive officer of ProtoLabs, stated that since 1999, the company's designers have reduced the cumulative time to market for clients by around 1,200 years.

He continued: "We have also continually expanded the size, complexity and materials offered by our services as well as our ability to support design engineers around the globe. We can't wait to see what the next ten years brings."

First Cut, the CNC machining service and Protomold, the injection moulding facility, is sometimes able to give product turnover in as little as one day.

Offering 22,000 molds and 24 million parts, Proto Labs has its UK office based in Telford, with outlets also found in Minnesota and Tokyo.
