Huron manufacturing company expanding plant
A Huron manufacturing company is expanding its plant as part of a project that will bring 30 to 35 jobs to the area.
Horizontal Machining and Manufacturing's 17,500 square foot addition will be completed in September.
It will house a five-side CNC machine capable of handling pieces and parts 22 feet by 13 feet by 7 feet with a weight capacity of 80,000 pounds.
Lt. Governor Dennis Daugaard and Huron Mayor David McGirr took part in a groundbreaking on Wednesday.
The project is being funded with private investment and $700,000 in low-interest loans from the South Dakota REDI fund.
