IS TECNIK has released the LICS-100A miniaturised laser interferometer incorporating new optical and electronics technology.

The compact system was developed as an efficient solution for applications requiring better than 1ppm uncertainty up to 15m, such as CNC machine tool and CMM axis calibration and compensation.

A lightweight laser head with an integrated signal processor uses laser Doppler distance measurement to eliminate a separate interferometer and achieve single aperture optics that enhance the application range.

The visible laser beam is able to be steered simply by angular adjustment of a front mounted mirror.

This allows the compact laser head to be mounted inside a machine and simplifies beam alignment to each measurement axis.
