Roland announces new CNC milling machine

Companies looking for a desktop milling machine capable of creating prototypes for testing may want to consider the latest offering from Roland.

Roland announces new CNC milling machineThe MDX-40A uses the organisation's Subtractive Rapid Prototyping technology with other features such as bundled software and material usage options to make the offering much more versatile for the precision engineering market.

It is produced by Roland to eliminate security risks of outsourcing by allowing things to be created in-house for a fraction of the cost.

Andrew Oransky, the director of product management for Roland, explained that the MDX-40A CNC milling machine is able to emulate manufacturing processes for prototypes, accurately reflecting appearance and functionality.

He continued: "Capable of producing a smooth surface finish on a wide variety of non-proprietary materials with a lower cost of ownership, we believe the MDX-40A offers the best value in the prototyping world today."

Roland was founded in 1981 and is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, specialising in 3D scanners and milling machines alongside printing materials.
