Ultra-Accurate Calibration Machine Range from Trimos
Bowers Metrology, the UK agent for the eminent Swiss Metrology
manufacturer Trimos, has announced the launch of the Labconcept Nano range of ultra-accurate, calibration machines. Building on the reputation of the current Labconcept instruments, that enjoy global popularity throughout the world’s Calibration and National Standards Laboratories, it is claimed that the innovative new Trimos machines represent a quantum leap within the field of dimensional metrology.
The ingenious design of the new Labconcept Nano provides potential users with the ideal platform for the calibration of a remarkably wide range of gauges and measuring instruments. Aided by the ease of use of the legendary Trimos WinDHI software, the checking of internal and external dimensions is now able to be performed as a fully automatic procedure by the Labconcept Nano’s advanced XYZ motorised axis. All functions, such as the unit’s displacement speed, measuring force, probing movement, measuring carriage locking and temperature compensation are automatically controlled by advanced electronics. Therefore every possible user influence is entirely eliminated from the Nano’s findings, resulting in unequaled high levels of measuring accuracy and exceptional repeatability.
The exciting new Trimos range consists of three machines with application ranges of 350 mm, 600 mm and 1100 mm, the maximum permissible errors of which are 0.07 + L(mm)/2000. Whilst the range’s impressive repeatability and resolution figures are 0.03 um and 0.00001 mm (0.00000004 inches) respectively. The motorisation of the measuring carriage (X) and both the vertical (Z) and horizontal (Y) axis of the universal measuring table, result in exceptional performance in terms of measuring speed, ease of use and accuracy. Positioning can be done directly using a mouse and keyboard or via the unit’s touch screen. Once positioned, measurements are entirely CNC controlled, including the execution of previously tedious functions, such as searching for gauge reversal points, ensuring the rapid, automatic measurement of plain and threaded ring and plug gauges.
