A free training initiative to teach precision engineering specialists how to use Hurco machine tools has proved to be a huge success, according to the organisation.

Held at its High Wycombe showroom, Hurco Europe's open house exhibition ran between July 6th and 9th and saw 44 companies visiting the facility, with 12 orders being placed for goods at a value of £700,000.
Central to the demonstration was the release of WinMax, a CNC program capable of use on Windows operating systems.
Hurco said of the release: "It allows advantage to be taken of the greater compatibility, networking and display benefits of Windows whilst retaining the user friendliness of the proprietary Ultimax control."
Other help offered during the event included conversational programming for 4-axis work and lathe control, new techniques with milling machines, and transferring CAD images to a CAM interface.
As well as providing machining centres, Hurco also regularly produces turning centres, rotary tables and autobend applications.
