Dimitriou Fabrications is proof Australian mines prefer Australian loaders
BLUESCOPE Steel says coal loaders made from XLERPLATE steel and built by Dimitriou Fabrications are numerous throughout Australian underground mines.
According to BLUESCOPE Steel, when it comes to manufacturing Dimitriou Fabrications has established a strong reputation in the mining and construction industries for its world-class products.
Dimitriou Fabrications is said to have produced over 500 loaders since it was founded, each fabricated from up to 40t of XLERPLATE steel with a capacity ranging between seven and 50t, and measuring up to 9m long.
BlueScope says in 2008, Dimitriou manufactured and delivered 120 coal loaders in a 12 month period, 16 of which were delivered in March alone.
Dimitriou says over the years it has continually re-invested in its fabrication and machining capabilities taking delivery of state-of-the-art machinery and incorporating leading edge technology as part of their operational processes.
One of its current projects is manufacturing large hoppers and feeders made from XLERPLATE steel for above ground mining operations.
The manufacturing company specialises in all areas of manufacturing from CNC profiling, pressing to 2,000t capacity, 3m rolling, CNC machining, and vertical boring up to 5m in diameter. Additionally it has recently taken delivery of a DAEWOO ACE-DB130C CNC horizontal borer, which can machine single items up to 15t with 5-axis capability.
Dimitriou Fabrications is one of the largest manufacturers in New South Wales, and is also one of the few fabricators which can boast a dedicated profiling facility. It uses up to 3,000t of XLERPLATE steel per year.
