MecSoft Europe has announced the release of MecSoft’s JewelMILL CAM software. JewelMILL provides unprecedented computer aided manufacturing (CAM) power to jewellery designers and goldsmiths, while maintaining an easy-to-use interface. This product is specifically adapted to Roland milling machines, and completely integrated into the 3D modeling system Rhinoceros. It provides a complete jewellery model production solution that allows the user to manufacture intricate wax models of beautifully crafted rings, pendants, bracelets, brooches, earrings and cufflinks.

Based on MecSoft’s proprietary ViusalMILL technology, JewelMILL’s powerful wizard based user interface offers support for 4-axis milling including simulation of finished 3D models. It lets designers quickly review the simulated model on the monitor and send it to the Roland machine for production. The end result is faster production, tighter dimensional accuracies and a smooth surface finish.

The six-step, wizard-based programme is very intuitive, has virtually no learning curve, and will allow jewellers to be cutting their designs exclusively on their Roland machine within minutes of creation.
