Ward CNC Machinery has announced the availability of a range of CNC vertical turning machines from the Hankook range.
Included in the range are the VTB/VTC series double-column models and the VTC 3040Y model with linear table Y-axis.
The VTC 3040Y model has maximum swing and turning diameters of 4000mm plus a turning height of 2000mm and is able to accommodate workpieces weighing 30 tonnes.
With a 3000mm diameter table capable of 1 to 100 rev/min, the VTC 3040Y's X- and Z-axis cutting feed rate is up to 500 rev/min while cutting feed in C is up to 180 deg/min at 0.5 rev/min.
Together with the 24-tool BT50 auto toolchanger (12 tools each for milling and turning) and X-, Z-, W- and Y-axis strokes of 4600mm x 1600mm x 1500mm x 3000mm, as well as Fanuc 31i-A CNC system, the specification represents a solution for productive single set-up output.
The Hankook VTL range embraces machines with maximum swing and turning diameters of 6000mm by 6000mm (the VTB(C) 5060E) down to 1250mm by 800mm (the VTB/VTC 100T - with Fanuc 21i-TB CNC) in addition to the compact VTB(C) 85R, which has a footprint of 2.2 x 2.8m.
Able to handle workpieces up to 800kgs and with rapid traverse rates in X- and Z-axis of 15m/min, the VTB 85R has travels in X and Z of 480mm by 875mm/825mm (depending on model) and a swing over the bed of 1000 mm with a maximum turning diameter of 850mm/830mm and turning height of 850mm/800mm.
Spindle speeds range up to 20 to 2000 rev/min (high-speed option) and there is a 12-tool automatic toolchanger capable of accommodating (on model VTC-85R) tools for drilling, end milling and tapping.
