SME Education Foundation and its partner, Project Lead The Way (PLTW) are working to change public perception of manufacturing and have been successful in encouraging young people in challenging themselves to pursue careers in advanced manufacturing. According to SME Education Foundation COO Bart A. Aslin, "Incremental and strategic funding has been critical to our creation of a STEM grid." Aslin also relayed respect for PLTW regarding its organizational discipline and curriculum.
