Haas Automation has announced that HaasTEC India will be held from October 11th to 13th, 2011, at the Chennai Trade Centre. This is the first time a HaasTEC open house is to be held in India, but the event will be modeled on the hugely successful HaasTEC that took place at the company’s factory and global headquarters in Oxnard, California, in March of this year.

"We’ve chosen to hold the inaugural HaasTEC India in Chennai because we have a particularly large customer-base in the area," says Haas India marketing coordinator, Ms. Melita Furtado. "We are only directly attending one local show in the south of the country during this year, so this will be a great opportunity for companies in the region to see the very latest Haas products."

Like its US antecedent, HaasTEC India is expected to attract hundreds of visitors to see the company’s latest generation CNC machine tools, such as the all-new range of ST CNC lathes, including Y-axis models. Also on display will be the best-selling DT-1 Drill/Tap Center, a wide array of new generation Haas VMCs - including 50-taper, high speed and mould-making models. Several vendors will also support the event, with booths for, for example, major CAD/CAM, tooling, and work holding suppliers.

Alongside the CNC machines, HaasTec India will also feature a selection of Haas rotary products on display, including the brand-new HRT160SS high-speed rotary table. The HRT160SS is the fastest rotary table Haas has built to date, providing a maximum speed of 570° per second – more than four times the speed of the standard HRT160. Its compact size and high speed make it the perfect complement for the DT-1 Drill/Tap center, and other high-speed Haas machines.
